53th Anniversary Vietnam War

The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall®, a 244- foot replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, is coming to Independence Mall, Wilmington, NC on Sept 26 to Oct 1, 2018 and will be open 24 hours a day and FREE to the public.  The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall® honors the more than three million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed forces during the Vietnam War and its walls bear the names of the more than 58,000 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam. There were over 1600 North Carolinians.  It allows Americans, not able to make the trip to Washington, DC a chance to see what the memorial is really like.  It is also a reminder of the ultimate sacrifices made by American men and women during the Vietnam War.  We hope your visit to The Vietnam Traveling memorial wall will be healing, educational and profoundly moving.  Please remember many visitors lost friends and family members during the war. They are visiting the Memorial to pay respect to those who served or lost their lives during the war.
