On September 20st, VTS is hosting our 2018 Annual Golf Classic Tournament featured as “Battle of the Branches: Land vs Air & Sea”. The tournament goal is to determine which branch will capture the flag and win the tournament. The proceeds from the event will be used to hire permanent drivers to provide transportation for blind and disabled veterans in the community-at-large. Additionally, your donation will assist us in the development of  the new Veteran Transition Services Center. 

The Veteran Center will feature activities that will enable blind and disabled veterans to participate in several activities. For example, the Center will have a pool table on a special type of lift that will enable veterans in wheel chairs to play, an audio descript theater room so that blind veterans can "Go To the Movies", an indoor golf theater, etc.  In the Charlotte area 30% of all suicides are those of veterans. This statistic is unacceptable and together we can do something about it.

The golf tournament will take place at Olde Sycamore Golf Club. Tee time is 9:00 A.M. which is preceded by an 8:00 registration. A lite breakfast and lunch are included for participants. Currently, we are asking for your donation at either a"Support-a-vet" level, as a golf participant or ideally as a four-some..
