Come join us at Midtown Park with Rick Rowan from Veterans' Yoga Project. This is open to all ages and abilities. We welcome those who this will be their first time to an event or their first time partaking in yoga.
Rick Rowan teaches Ashtanga style power yoga. After centering, breath awareness and warm up we move into postures that are held for five breaths to improve strength, flexibility and balance. During the first two breaths we find the posture that suits our bodies and for the last three breaths we relax into the posture to get the full benefit. This is a mindfulness practice with emphasis on proper posture alignment while settling the mind into stillness by being aware of the sensations in the body.
