9th Annual HTW Bike Event  2018  October 26, 2018 
     On October 26 and 27 HTW will host our 9th Annual Bike Event here in Charlotte and Mint Hill, NC  Everyone is welcome to join our 30 disabled veterans to ride and tour the area.  On the 26th we will begin our ride at Eastway Park in Charlotte.  Our escorted route will take us through NODA stopping at 1st Ward School for a brief presentation by the students.  We will proceed  down Tryon St to the Bank of America Stadium.  Crossing the city center again we will pass by the NASCAR Hall of Fame and break for lunch at CPCC Main Campus.
     After lunch we will ride the Sugar Creek Greenway to Freedom Park.  Then ride through Cherry and Elizabeth neighborhoods to our next stop at Hawthorne Academy where we will meet the JROTC Department.  After a brief ceremony we will continue up The Plaza returning to Eastway Park.  Our day will end there with about 18 miles under our belts and a load of memories.
     On the 27th we will move to Veteran's Memorial Park in Mint Hill where we will have 3 routes for the riders to choose from.  Routes will run 66 miles, 32 miles, and 15 miles.  Anyone can register to ride ride alongside our fantastic veterans on any of the routes and celebrate upon return with a meal and the camaraderie of new friends and veterans.
